Ligation (vasectomy)
Surgical ligation of both spermatic ducts, preferably in the scrotum, is used for targeted contraception.
This procedure is almost exclusively performed on an outpatient basis under local anaesthesia. Under certain circumstances, we also perform vasectomies under brief general anaesthesia. We generally perform the procedure on Fridays, as the body generally needs two days to recover. In certain cases, insurance companies will assume part of the treatment costs.
