Nephrostomy
Under ultrasound or X-ray inspection, a renal calyx is punctured through the skin and back muscles. This puncture channel will be extended, thereby allowing direct access to the pyelocaliceal system.
If only one kidney congestion must be treated, it is sufficient to allow the urine to flow freely via this stent. Larger stones can also be processed: A working sleeve is inserted through an expanded puncture channel. Through this working sleeve, the stone can be processed, and the debris can be evacuated.
