Orchiectomy

If the suspicion of testicular cancer is confirmed, the affected testicle must be completely surgically removed.

Because the remaining healthy testicle assumes the functions of the testicle that was removed, this operation does not lead to such long-term side effects such as impotence, infertility, or impaired sexual sensation.

Depending on the findings, chemotherapy or radiotherapy may follow. Overall, when treated in time, the prognosis of testicular tumours is extremely good; the vast majority of patients can be cured.
