The narrowed section and excess renal pelvis tissues are removed, and the ureteral outlet is reconstructed. A ureteral stent (pigtail) and a bladder catheter remain for a certain period after the operation.

The procedure is minimally invasive and mostly performed endoscopically with the DaVinci robot.
