In urology, X-ray imaging of the urinary tract plays an important role. Using modern, digital X-ray equipment, diseases of the urethra (urethrography), bladder (cystography), ureter, and renal pelvis (ureteropyelography) can be recognised.
The tests are generally performed on an outpatient basis. When investigating the upper urinary tract (ureter and renal pelvis), acytoscopy is usually required.
