Sepsis (blood poisoning)

Sepsis or blood poisoning can lead to one or more organ failures and eventually to death. It often occurs when an infection is diagnosed too late or is initially treated incorrectly. Bacteria, which are resistant to many antibiotics, often play a decisive role in the development of sepsis.
