Internal urethrotomy (Otis method)

For this method, a special tool is inserted into the urethra, and the entire urethra is charged. The instrument can be spread and adjusted to the desired diameter.

A thin blade is inserted in the instrument. This can be moved by the surgeon. This results in a uniform, elongated splitting of the urethra. After the procedure, an indwelling catheter is left in the urethra for several days.
